Loitering with intent: Muriel spark

Hadnt heard of her till like a month back, Dame Muriel Spark is one awesome brilliant writer. she makes you laugh without even meaning to. Her lines are so, lets say, Innocent. Almost like she is sitting there huddled up in a corner going "what now" as i try not to laugh loud and wake boi up.
The main character Fleur Talbot, goes through up's and down's in her job, her novel "warrender chase" gets stolen by her boss and then everyone at work starts acting like the characters from her novel. Terribly creepy and at some points her descriptions of people on streets and random incidents kept making me go" that happened to me"/ "this happened to ME"

The thing around your neck: Chimamanda Adichie
Collection of short stories, mostly from a woman's perspective. Nigerian women who have immigrated and their stories. Interesting but you could just as easily get bored too.
I started reading her after Birdsong was given to me by P, after it came in New Yorker.I completely fell in love with that story. After which, one day i was watching Youtube Interviews of Michael cunnigham and Chitra Divakaruni when i you tube'd Chimamanda too.
She sounded moderately sensible, not given to any extreme opinions save for one. She thinks that when a man gives a woman ring, there is a certain level of gratitude involved, and that she hates it, the laughing and obscene tears and such.
I disagree.
